Evolution of Lodi

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Lodi, Ripley’s mom, has gone through many changes before we decided on the actual drawing for the Ripley comic. Below are just a few sketch examples of what Lodi could have look liked for the comic.

blocky drawing of Lodi

This version of Lodi and Ripley is very close to the finished version of the two. In this version you can see that Lodi has a blockier look than the final version of Lodi used for the comic.

This try on the left at sketching Lodi was almost correct. It looked really good but you couldn’t tell from the sketch that Lodi was a female dog and Ripley’s mom. The sketch had to make this clear and the one on the right finally got everything perfect.

Here you can see the final drawing in full color for Lodi.
