Ripley, mommy was so worried when I received a phone call letting me know that you were at the police station. I am so happy that you are okay! I’m so proud of you for running away from that very bad man and for letting the police know about him. Remember, none of what happened today is your fault. Sometimes it’s easy to forget what mommy tells you about strangers. Let’s talk about this so we both remember.
Ripley, do you remember Mommy talking to you about talking to strangers. Let’s talk about being aware of what strangers may say to you. These people may seem very nice and he/she may look like someone you know, but remember, a grown-up should never ask a child to help him/her. If someone says he/she lost his/her doggie, kitty, mommy, daddy, sister, brother, bike, ball, etc…we should never ever help them. Instead run away and then tell me. If a stranger offers you and/or your friends candy or any kind of food, what do we do? Yes, we run away. The only person who you should speak to is someone you know well and trust like your mommy or daddy.
