Best In Rescue Show 2018

The Hallmark Channel was airing for the first time an American Rescue Dog Show, a Westminster style dog show that celebrates what makes shelter canines special.

This years Best in Rescue Show for 2018 is an 11-year-old black Lab mix named Jackie. She is the inaugural winner of American Rescue Dog Show. A year ago, Jackie was on death’s door. Her previous family surrendered her to a kill shelter and was on the shelter’s euthanasia list. Her life has changed so much in the last year. First she was rescued by Debbie Bloom and Jackie became part of a loving home.  Bloom took a chance on the graying dog and adopted her from the shelter in Los Angeles. Jackie immediately fit right in with Bloom’s children and three other rescue dogs.  Now, she’s an award-winning canine.

Jackie, with a sweet face liberally spotted with gray, wowed the judges with her spirited gait and youthful exuberance, despite being elderly. She first took the ribbon for Best in Senior, then went on to win the contest’s top honor. Owner Debbie Bloom looked thunderstruck when Jackie’s name was called not once, but twice, at the contest televised by the Hallmark Channel.

  • She is a snuggler.
  • She has never met a person or dog that she didn’t like.
  • Jackie is in love with a stuffed flamingo she takes everywhere. When it’s not in her mouth, she uses it as a pillow.
